Surfs Up

Realizing that one of the perks of homeschooling is that we can make our own schedule, we decided to go the beach and attend surf school. We picked up fellow homeschooler, guitar prodigy, world traveler and all around cool kid (Swain Sumner) and headed for the beach. The day was overcast, which eventually turned to torrential rain, but it was still so much fun. I mean once your wet your wet right!
Black sand is so soft and fine it's like heaven to walk on. Dalton cut little squares out of the top layer of sand then crushed them. He is so easily entertained and he's so cute too.
Malcolm heading out to try his hand at surfing. Notice his ripped muscles. We are not sure where they came from since they don't exist in real life. I didn't know my camera had such a feature but I am definitely going to use it more often.
Jacob and Swain coming in after a round of cutting up waves. OK, they really didn't do too much cutting.

Kalie in her totally cute, new suit heading down to the water. I love this photo!
Malcolm showing off his skills!
Jake's skills!
Of course the boys had to compete as to who had the best skills. To say the least it made for a long ride home until everyone just put their earphones in and went to sleep. Oh the joy of silence. Now don't these photos make you want to homeschool and have this much fun with your kids whenever your heart desires?
