In order to remain legal here in Paradise we have to exit the country and come back in every 90 days. The closest boarder is Costa Rica so off we went for a somewhat forced family vacation. One of the missionaries that lives near us is from Costa Rica. Every time he comes for dinner (which is several times a week) Malcolm informs him how horrible Costa Rica is and how many horrible diseases he has seen on Discovery Channel that come from visiting Coasta Rica. After our visit, I was sure Malcolm would have to eat crow and apologise for all the terrible things he had said. However, Malcolm spent the whole trip reading his book either in the bungalow or on it's front porch. Therefore he completely missed the beauty right in front of his face and refused to change his position on Elder Guerrero's homeland. The rest of us loved every minute of it. Our little resort was right on the beach, quiet and secluded. It was awesome.
Malcolm in the "Rancho Relaxo." This is his idea of a great vacation.
Jacob, Kalie and Dalton resting after walking down the beach.
Waves would come over the rocks and small fish would get caught in the pools. Dalton is looking for fish.
A coconut we found on the beach. Jacob broke it open by throwing it at a rock. Dalton drank the milk and then when we got back to our bungalow we ate the coconut meat.
This is the coconut that saved Kalie's life.
This is the venemos sea snake that Kalie almost stepped on. Jacob threw the coconut at it and hit it on the neck right below it's head. The snake became enraged and tried to bit itself where the coconut had hit it.
Dalton trying to catch the blue and yellow fish that had been washed up with a wave.
Now THAT looks like paradise! Minus the sea snake, of course!
